Dr. Thiyagarajan Thangavelu studied medicine in the prestigious Stanley Medical college, Chennai and went to the USA for specializing in Internal Medicine, at the University of Illinois, Saint Francis hospital, Chicago. He went on to work for the world-famous Mayo Clinic Health System and has imbibed the values Mayo stands for— putting the needs of the patient first, promoting education and research. As he treated more complex medical conditions, he understood that it was the poor management of the underlying disorders which caused his patients’ health issues. More often the disorders were diabetes and obesity. This led him to further specialize in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic disorders and he envisioned establishing a one stop care for diabetes, thyroid, obesity and metabolic disorders in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. Thus, Kovai Endo Care has come into being.
